Photographic paper is a paper coated with a light-sensitive chemical formula, like photographic film, used for making photographic prints.
You can choose between four types of high-quality paper for your photo cards. Paper: Galerie Image. 260 g/m Semi-glossy on the outside with a slightly rough surface on the inside (classic postcard paper) Paper: Refutura. 300 g/m Matt surface, high quality, ecological. Paper: Ice Silver. 290 g/m Paper: Genesis. 340 g/m
Pearl Finish Often used by professional photographers and graphic designers, it includes slightly higher glossiness compared to satin finish. It benefits from vibrant deep color results, but yet still has a lower reflection than the gloss paper. Available in micro/nano pores coating.
The ARTnews Recommends Editors Best Overall: Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster. Best Matte Paper: Canon Photo Paper Premium Matte. Best Darkroom-Style Paper: Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II. Best Glossy Paper: Hahnemhle Photo Glossy 260. Best Cotton Paper: Moab Entrada Rag Bright 300.
The go-to printing material for most people is printing paper, which can be either matte or glossy. Printing paper is usually much thicker than regular paper and is smooth to touch. Photos can also be printed onto regular paper and cardboard- this is the easiest way to print photos from home.
Printing Basics: How to Choose the Best Paper for your Photos Luster. Luster is our most popular for good reason. Glossy. Sometimes, you just have to shine! Matte. Ideal for those with docHub photo experience and an appreciation of fine art imagery. Metallic. Sometimes, you need your photos to sparkle! Deep Matte.
Usually a warm tone paper like Palo Duro Etching that has some surface texture is best for printing old photos.
The bottom line for glossy vs matte photos is that glossy is better when you wont be framing behind glass and when your photos have lots of contrast or vibrant colors. Matte is better for classic black and white photos that need to last and might be displayed in a gallery.
The most common types of paper for printing photos are glossy, luster, and baryta paper.
A4. A4 paper is the most commonly-used for printing and measures 210mm x 297mm. This paper comes in many different weights and with several different coatings, meaning there is an A4 paper that is suitable for any printing job.
