hi and welcome students todays tutorial will cover PowerPoint 2016 and Im going to show you what I do when I have to edit an existing presentation so lets say I just downloaded this PowerPoint file from somewhere on the Internet first thing I want to do is I want to go to the file tab up here in the top left itll take me to the backstage menu and I want to go to save as and save as is right there and then I could save it to wherever I want on my computer keep in mind that when you go to save as its saving it to a new location so if you just downloaded it from the computer or from the internet rather its gonna go most likely to your downloads folder so its always a good idea to hit browse right there and choose a new location for it all right so now Ive downloaded this Ive opened it up and now I need to do a couple things one of the first things I do whenever I look at a presentation is I go into the design tab alright design tab gives me a lot of information like what theme am

In the upper-right corner of the PowerPoint window, click the arrow next to Search in Presentation. Select Replace. In the Find What box, enter the text you want to search for, and in the Replace With box, enter the text you want to use as the replacement.
On the Home tab, under Insert, click Text. On the pop-up menu, click Text Box. On the slide, click the location where you want to add the text box. Type or paste your text in the text box.
Change the slide master Select View Slide Master. Make the text, color, and alignment changes you want. If you want to use a predefined theme, select that first by clicking Themes on the Slide Master tab. When youre done, select Close Master View.

Formatting the Text Open your presentation in PowerPoint. Select the text you want to modify. On the Home tab, in the Font group, youll find a lot of buttons and settings that you can use to customize and modify the text. To change the font of a text, select it and click the Font drop-down arrow.
To change the current theme to another theme: On the DESIGN tab, in the Themes group, click More. Do one of the following: Under Custom, choose a custom theme to apply. Under Office, click a built-in theme to apply. Click Browse for Themes, and locate and click a theme.
Add and format text Select a text box and type some text. To format, select the text, and select an option to change the font, spacing, or alignment. To create bulleted or numbered lists, select the text, and then select Bullets or Numbering.
