[Music] psd might be the default file format for photoshop files but sometimes it is better to save it in tiff format because of some reason like the following this means that tiff files are usually compatible with other graphic design programs while it might not be the case for psd files here is an example this psd can just be open using just docHub softwares while this tiff file can be opened using other softwares [Music] that would be a big factor in an emergency situation like last minute modification if photoshop is not available photoshop files including layers consumes a lot of disk space thats why tiff file is much better again for this reason because you can compress tiff files for less than half the size of a psd without affecting its quality here is a size comparison this two files are just the same documents but saved in two different formats but this tiff file is less than half of its psd version so just imagine how convenient it is to send tiff file instead of psd throug

To be very clear, Acrobat is not a viewer of TIFF or other image format files. That is why it doesnt initially to open such file formats (including JPEG, PNG, etc.) directly in Acrobat. Acrobats support of such file formats is strictly for conversion of such formats to PDF.
