Generally, every cell in a row or column has the same size, so you cant adjust the size of a cell individually without affecting the others in its same row or column. You can merge adjacent cells to create larger compound cells, however, and you can set rows and columns to automatically adjust to fit text.

Unfortunately, we cant change the datatype of standard fields. Only we can shift between text and Auto Number data types. But if you want the same functionality create a custom field of that data type and of this custom field you can change data type.
Right-click your chart, and then choose Select Data. In the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the series you want to change. Click Edit, make your changes, and click OK.
Change data types in Datasheet view Select the field (the column) that you want to change. On the Fields tab, in the Properties group, click the arrow in the drop-down list next to Data Type, and then select a data type. Save your changes.
Click Edit next to the custom field you want to change. Click Change Field Type. Select a new data type and click Next. Enter a field label, name, and any other attributes, and then save your changes.
Make an Excel form. Select the Developer tab in the top menu. Under Control, select Insert and choose the form element you need. Place the element on the spreadsheet. Right-click the element and select Format Controls to change its settings.
