Open the File menu in the top left corner. Click Export. In the panel that appears, click Create PDF/XPS Document. Optimize the file for Standard or Minimum.
If youre on a Mac computer, making a PDF from an Excel file can be completed through the Save As menu item. Go to File Save As to open a pop-up box for saving the Excel document. Next to File Format, at the bottom of that window, choose PDF. Select Save to convert the Excel file to PDF on your Mac.
When you need to convert an open Excel file to PDF, a super-fast way to do this is by using the CTRL-P keyboard shortcut. Technically, this takes you to the more commonly used Print Preview area of the Backstage, but you can select Microsoft Print to PDF from the list of available printers.
Save Excel to a PDF on Mac When you open the workbook, choose a sheet and select the cells if you want to export a cell range. To save the entire workbook as a PDF, simply open it. Select File Save As in the menu bar.
Use the Fit to Page option before exporting to PDF: Select the chart in Excel. Go to the Page Layout tab in the Excel ribbon. Click on the Print Area dropdown and select Fit to Page or Fit to Sheet. Adjust the scaling options if needed.

To save multiple sheets in an Excel workbook as a PDF: Open your Excel workbook. Hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard. Click on the tabs of the sheets you want to save as a PDF. Go to File in the top left corner. Choose Save As. Select the location where you want to save the file.
