To open the Styles and Formatting window, do any one of the following: Click on the. icon located at the left-hand end of the formatting toolbar. Select Format Styles and Formatting. Press F11.
Using styles to format text Open the Styles and Formatting window by pressing F11 or selecting Format Styles and Formatting from the menu bar. Select the style category by clicking on either the Presentation Styles icon or the Graphic Styles icon at the top of the Style and Formatting window (see ).
Click the down-arrow at the right-hand end of the Formatting toolbar. On the drop-down menu, click Visible Buttons. On the submenu, click Apply Style. The menus close and the Apply Style list now appears on the toolbar between the Styles and Formatting icon and the Font Name list.
Press F11 to open the Styles and Formatting window.
Applying styles First click on one of the icons at the top left (Graphics Styles or Presentation Styles) to display a list of styles in the category you want. Then do one of the following: Position the insertion point in the paragraph or graphic and double-click on the name of the style you want to apply.
Right-click the template that you want to set as the default, and then click Set as Default. Click Yes to confirm. When the Progress window indicates that overall progress is complete, click Close. The default template has a blue icon and the state is identified as Template (default) on the Templates tab.
To create a new style using the Style dialog, right-click in the Styles and Formatting window and select New from the pop-up menu. If you want your new style to be linked with an existing style, first select that style and then right-click and select New. Creating a new style from the Style dialog.
Applying styles: several methods OOo provides several ways to apply styles: Using the Styles and Formatting window. Using Fill Format mode. Using the Apply Style list.
To edit a template: From the main menu, choose File Templates Edit. A standard file browser window opens. Find and select the template that you want to edit, and then click Open. The selected template opens in Impress. Edit the template just as you would any other presentation.
To change an existing style using the Style dialog, right-click on the required style in the Styles and Formatting window and select Modify from the pop-up menu. The Style dialog displayed depends on the type of style selected. Each style dialog has several tabs.
