Faxes can fail for a variety of reasons, such as sending to a non-working or non-fax number, a recipient listing their number on the National Do Not Call List, a recipient line being continually busy or out of paper, or if there is noise or interference on the line.
Fax transmissions include a confirmation process. One of the reasons fax continues in use is that fax has a process to confirm that the entire message was received. When the receiving fax machine sends a confirmation signal, the sending fax machine prints a confirmation page.
What Does a Fax No Answer Alert Mean? In laymans language, it means that the receiving fax machine may not be available, or the connection between the two machines has failed. In some cases, your fax machine may not have received a signal from the other fax machine, hence the no answer error.
Security. Sending sensitive or highly confidential documents is better sent through fax. As the transmission of the document only involves a phone network and the physical document, it is received directly by the recipient with less risk of interception.
Your fax may go through if you try again. If you are getting the number busy error, it means that we initiated the call but your destination was busy. You need to wait for a couple of minutes and then send your fax again.
Last Update: August 9th, 2021. No answer to a fax means that either there is no fax machine at the fax number entered, or the fax machines failed to connect.
Go to the Faxes section and then click on the Sent tab to view the list of your sent faxes. Find the fax you wish to get the confirmation report of, and click on the 3-dot icon next to it. Click on the Fax Confirmation Report option to view the report.
To set up the Transmission Verification Report to print after every fax you send, follow the steps listed below: Press MENU, 2 (Fax), 4 (Report Setting), 1 (Transmission). Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select OFF, OFF+IMAGE, ON, or ON+IMAGE. Press OK. Press STOP/EXIT.
Go to the Faxes section and then click on the Sent tab to view the list of your sent faxes. Find the fax you wish to get the confirmation report of, and click on the 3-dot icon next to it. Click on the Fax Confirmation Report option to view the report.
The easiest way to tell that your fax was successfully transmitted is if your fax machine prints a fax confirmation page. This is a one-page summary that lists the time and date, number of pages, and the recipients fax number.
