this is an update video to the first video i did about the 50 floor for subsidy negotiations that new law that was passed recently now this law comes into effect july first and the intention of the law in my eye now the intention of this new law was that subsidy negotiations would start no lower than 50 of the amount that you would qualify for for subsidies so dcs couldnt make a a zero dollar a day offer now when i made that video a little while ago i alluded to the possibility that this might only apply to the higher cans levels now when i look at the law at first glance i dont see anything in there that limits this law to just the higher cans levels at all director stigdon did send a letter out today that said this im writing to share an important update with you this session the general assembly passed legislation that requires dcs to negotiate certain adoption subsidies starting at no less than 50 percent of the per diem paid for the child while in foster care this is effective
