hi im charlie kasov im a math teacher and today were going to learn how to find the value of a letter in an algebraic equation so first lets pick a variable a letter uh lets choose b so if we have 2 b equals 3 c well now we have two variables no numbers so we will never be able to find the letter value for this equation however if we have b minus 7 equals 11 then we simply put all the numbers on one side keep all the letters on the other side and we have a solution so we add 7 to each side and we have b equals 18. now sometimes it looks like itll be hard to find the value of the letter but its just the same lets say we have b plus two equals three b minus four well the same rule applies we put all the numbers on one side we put all the variables on the other now what i like to do is i like to bring small over to big and big negative over to positive when i can so here we subtract b from each side and we add four to each side so now we are left with two plus four is six equals
