Steps to convert content from a TXT or CSV file into Excel Open the Excel spreadsheet where you want to save the data and click the Data tab. In the Get External Data group, click From Text. Select the TXT or CSV file you want to convert and click Import. Select Delimited. Click Next.
You can also do it by right-clicking on the unopened file and clicking on the Rename option. Simply change the extension to whatever file format you want and your computer will do the conversion work for you.
To remove duplicate rows, find the column that should be unique. Click the column header, and select Remove Duplicates. This will create a new dataset with only one row for each value.

Click on Save As from the File or Windows Button menu in Excel then choose the Other Formats option and choose Unicode Text as the file type. Type a file name into the File Name box and click on Save. This will create a text file containing the data but with the CSV formatting stripped out.
Change separator when saving Excel file as CSV Click File Options Advanced. Under Editing options, clear the Use system separators check box. Change the default Decimal separator. As this will change the way decimal numbers are displayed in your worksheets, choose a different Thousands separator to avoid confusion.
