hello everyone in this video were going to be looking at a logarithmic equation this problem was taken from a book called a problem book in algebra by kretschmar ill share the link down below so we have 2 times the log of x plus 3 equals log of ax and we know that or were told that this equation has only one root and were going to be looking for the a values all right so this is a pretty interesting problem because a is a parameter we dont know what it is thats what were going to find all right so this is the first thing were going to do notice that x plus 3 needs to be greater than 0 in order for this log function to be defined by the way when i say log you should always understand its base 10 otherwise if its base e im going to be writing ln okay so make sure were not confused about that so the first thing im going to do is use the exponent rule so im going to write this as log x plus 3 squared and thats equal to log of ax if you want you can write the x in parenthesis

Steps to Solve Exponential Equations using Logarithms Keep the exponential expression by itself on one side of the equation. Get the logarithms of both sides of the equation. You can use any bases for logs. Solve for the variable. Keep the answer exact or give decimal approximations.
logarithm, the exponent or power to which a base must be raised to yield a given number. Expressed mathematically, x is the logarithm of n to the base b if bx = n, in which case one writes x = logb n. For example, 23 = 8; therefore, 3 is the logarithm of 8 to base 2, or 3 = log2 8.

Combining natural log rules Product, quotient, and power rules for logarithms, as well as the general rule for logs, can all be used together, in any combination, in order to solve problems with natural logs.
What is the rule when you multiply two values with the same base together (x2 * x3)? The rule is that you keep the base and add the exponents. Well, remember that logarithms are exponents, and when you multiply, youre going to add the logarithms. The log of a product is the sum of the logs.
The laws apply to logarithms of any base but the same base must be used throughout a calculation. This law tells us how to add two logarithms together. Adding log A and log B results in the logarithm of the product of A and B, that is log AB. The same base, in this case 10, is used throughout the calculation.

In general, there are three ways to keep a time log: Traditional time diary written in a spreadsheet, be it Excel, a template, a simple table in Word, etc. Time tracking software with timesheets and more advanced functionalities that let you track work progress in real-time.
