hello and welcome to this excel tips video I am so mad Mansell and in this video Im going to show you how to quickly find and select cells with bold font formatting in it so in this case I have this data set and I have these three cells where bold font formatting has been applied now in this data set I can manually select these but in case you have a huge data set then doing this manually is not an option so let me show you a very quick way of doing this I would first select this data set I would hold the ctrl key and then press the F key so this would open the Find and Replace dialog box and in this case I do want to find a specific text I want to find a specific format so I would click on the options button here and instantly it is going to show me all these options now here I can select a cell from which I want to find the formatting so I can select and I can specify find all the cells that have the formatting similar to the cell a3 so I would come here click on this drop down icon

The TEXT function lets you change the way a number appears by applying formatting to it with format codes. Its useful in situations where you want to display numbers in a more readable format, or you want to combine numbers with text or symbols.
There is no way for that, you cant have character level formatting in cells which contain a formula. Your two workarounds: have the same formatting for all text in the cell. convert formula output to constant before formatting.
On the Home tab, in the Styles group, click Conditional formatting New Rule In the New Formatting Rule window, select Use a formula to determine which cells to format. Enter the formula in the corresponding box. Click the Format button to choose your custom format.
Format Part of a Cell Select the cell you want to format. In the formula bar, select the text you want to format. Select the text formatting you want to use. Press Enter.
Make cells bold if greater than certain number with Conditional Formatting In the New Formatting Rule dialog box, you need to: In the Format Cells dialog box, click Bold in the Font style box under Font tab, and then click the OK button. When it returns the New Formatting Rule dialog box, click the OK button.
