How to Blueprint Elect Notification For Free
In this video, we introduce blueprints and home assistant blueprints are pre-written automations that you can customize for your situation in home assistant. They are written in a generic style to allow for customization of devices and actions. To demonstrate blueprints, we first create an automation in home assistant to notify of a low battery alert on a sensor. We start by creating a normal automation and then do the same using a blueprint. We go to settings, automations, then create automation. We select a blueprint for the automation, or start with an empty automation. We give it a name, set the trigger type to device motion sensor, select motion sensor battery low as the trigger. For the action, we select call service and choose a suitable notification, such as one via a mobile phone. We then type an appropriate message to warn of the low battery, and enable the automation.
