To freeze the row/column we can use a simple HTML table and CSS. HTML: In HTML we can define the header row by tag or we can use tag also. Below example is using the tag. We also put the table in DIV element to see the horizontal and vertical scrollbar by setting the overflow property of the DIV element.
Just select the cells you want to lock, then press F4. This will add the $ symbol to the cell references in the formula, locking the cells in place. For example, if you have a formula in cell A1 that references cell B1, and you press F4, the formula will change to =$A$1+$B$1.
To freeze multiple columns, select the column to the right of the last column you want frozen and click Freeze Panes. Say you want to freeze the top four rows and leftmost three columns. Youd select cell D5, and then on the View tab, click Freeze Panes.
Select the column to the right of the column(s) you want to freeze. In our example, we want to freeze column A, so well select column B. On the View tab, select the Freeze Panes command, then choose Freeze Panes from the drop-down menu. The column will be frozen in place, as indicated by the gray line.
Go to the Protection tab and uncheck Locked option and click Ok. Now select only the cells or columns, rows that you want to protect. Right click and choose Format cells again. Go to the protection tab and check Locked option and click Ok.
