Usually, bates numbering is added in the header or footer of the document. docHub is one of the most widely used PDF software to add bates numbering to PDF pages. Bates stamping in docHub is quite easy and makes the process of adding numbers to each page quite simple and efficient.
In the Add Header and Footer dialog box click Page Number and Date Format and select the proper start page number. Under the Appearance Options put your cursor where you want the page number to appear then click Insert Bates Number. Set your preference.
The original machine described by Bates allowed numbering with a four-digit sequence, ranging from 0000 to 9999. For example, page 852 in a document set would be 0852. Courts and law firms quickly adopted this system.
