In this tutorial, the author demonstrates how to find the author of a PDF file using DocHub Activate Pro DC. By opening the PDF file and accessing the properties option, you can locate information such as the title, file name, subject name, created date, and modified date. Additional metadata, including the author title, description, and copyright status, can also be found. After viewing this information, you can click "OK" to save the changes. To protect your information, learn how to redact in Preview. Open your PDF in Preview. Click the Markup icon on the top right. Click the Redact button on the top left. Read the reminder in the dialog box, save a copy of your PDF, and click OK. Select your text to have it automatically redacted.
PDF documents created in Acrobat 5.0 or later contain document metadata in XML format. Metadata includes information about the document and its contents, such as the authors name, keywords, and copyright information, that can be used by search utilities.
Or, you can right-click on the opened PDF file and choose Document Properties in the drop-down window. Remove Metadata: In the Properties window, youll see information like the author, subject, keywords, and more. To remove this metadata, simply delete the text in each field or modify it as needed.
To check, open your PDF document in docHub. Choose File; then Document Properties. You should see information that indicates the Author of the document.
Click on the settings option and select Custom. In the left pane, open the Discard user data and ensure all the options are unchecked. Hit on the Ok button to save the settings. Your metadata will be discarded from the pdf.
If you right click and choose properties on the . pdf, then choose the details tab there is an option to Remove Properties and Personal Information. You can choose what to remove, either some or all of the properties.
Right-click (Windows) or control-click (Mac OS) the comment or edit and select Properties. c. Under General delete the author name. Type in Reviewer or Anonymous or leave the author field blank.
To change the author name, choose Preview Settings, click PDF, then type a different name in the Name field.
