Page breaks in Word documents depend on formatting, with each page displaying a number at the bottom right corner. A manual page break can be inserted where desired by turning on formatting marks in the Home tab's paragraph group. This allows for better control over the layout of your document.

Go to Layout Breaks Page. Click or tap in the document where you want a page break. Go to Insert Page Break.
