PC and Mac In a document that contains endnotes, Choose ViewNormal. Choose View Footnotes. With the pointer, press the arrow to the right of the box that says All Endnotes. Several choices will appear. Highlight the line. Delete the line. Close the Endnote window and Save your work.
Remove or change a footnote or endnote separator The Footnotes pane appears at the bottom of your document. You can edit the color or style of the separator by choosing options on the Home tab, or, to delete the separators, click Footnote Separator in the Footnotes list, and then select and delete the separator line.
If you later want to view the footnotes or endnotes window, you can display the References tab of the ribbon and click Show Notes in the Footnotes group. This displays the Footnotes or Endnotes window. You can then make changes to footnotes or endnotes in the window if you so desire.
Insert footnotes and endnotes Click where you want to reference to the footnote or endnote. On the References tab, select Insert Footnote or Insert Endnote. Why Are My Footnotes Moving to Another Page in Microsoft Word? If your footnotes keep moving to another page in Word, its because the contents of the footnote are too large for your pages footer. Your page margins might be too small or the font size might be too big.
To keep the footnote together in Word: Press Ctrl+Shift+S to Apply Styles. Footnote Text. Click Modify. Click Format. Select Paragraph. Under Line and Page Breaks tab. Check box by Keep lines together. Click OK.
To insert a footnote: Open the References tab and in the Footnotes group select Insert Footnote. Type the text for the footnote. Double-click the footnote reference mark to return to the reference mark in the document.
Use simulated footnotes Go to the footer and add the same superscript number, plus the footnote text (plus an optional border above). This will cause it to appear at the bottom of every page in the section containing the table.
