In the Advanced Caption Options dialog, go to the Equation Caption section, type ( in the Prefix box, type ) in the Suffix box, select Middle from the Vertical drop down list, keep Right selected in the Horizontal drop down list, and click the OK button.
8. In APA style, when discussing numbered equations in the text, write out the word Equation and give the number. For example, you would write see Equation 1.
The equation numbers should be enclosed by parentheses and placed at the right-hand side of the page. If you are referring to an equation in the text, use eq. (3) (or other abbreviations). If it is the first word in a sentence, capitalize it, i.e., Eq.
\begin{equation}\label{} \end{equation}. Use this if you want the equation to be automatically numbered. You can later reference the equation with \eqref{}, where the text inside the braces is the equation label.
Word equations follow certain rules Reactants always go first in word equations, and the names of the reactants are separated using + symbols. After the reactants, there is an arrow, , to show that the chemical reaction has taken place. The products are written after the arrow, separated by + symbols.
Mathematical equation Author. Year of publication (in round brackets). Title of article (in single quotation marks). Title of journal (in italics capitalise first letter of each word in title, except for linking words such as and, of, the, for). Volume, issue, page numbers. Available at: URL (or doi if available).
Select Insert Equation or press Alt + =. To use a built-in formula, select Design Equation. To create your own, select Design Equation Ink Equation.
To number an equation in Word, select the equation and go to References Insert Caption, then click New Label and choose your number format. To label the equation, change the Label option in the Caption dialog box to Equation.
Insert your equation into the center column. Insert your cursor into a space following the table and hit Return. Use the References tab to insert a new caption with the label of Equation.
If you include tables, figures, and equations in your documents, they should be properly numbered and cross-referenced. By convention, table captions are above the table; figure captions are below the figure, and equation numbers are to the right of the equation.
