How do you lose settled status?

If you spend more than 5 years in a row outside the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man (4 years if youre a Swiss citizen or their family member) youll lose your settled status. Youll usually need to apply for a visa to live and work in the UK.

You must send your completed application form and supporting documents to the Home Office by post. You must not send your form back by email unless the EU Settlement Resolution Centre has assigned you a unique application number.

Can I add family member to my pre-settled status?

Apply for the EU Settlement Scheme family permit if you are the close family member of an EEA or Swiss national and they have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme. You must be a close family member, such as a spouse, civil partner, dependent child or dependent parent.

Does settled status expire?

Settled Status allows you to remain in the UK indefinitely. You can apply for Settled Status once you have docHubed five years continuous residence in the UK. You must apply before your five years on Pre-Settled status expires if you wish to remain in the UK.
