An assemblys name is stored in metadata and has a docHub impact on the assemblys scope and use by an application. A strong-named assembly has a fully qualified name that includes the assemblys name, culture, public key, version number, and, optionally, processor architecture.
To determine if an assembly is strong-typed, use the Strong Name Tool from Microsoft ((v=vs.71).aspx) by running the sn.exe -v command. You may need to download one of the Windows SDK packages to get access to this tool.
For me, the problem was a NuGet package without a strong name. The solution was to StrongNamer from NuGet, which automatically adds a strong name to all referenced assemblies. Just simply having it referenced in the project fixed my issue.
The first step towards creating a strong name is to generate a public and private key. The private key is used to create the digital signature and must be kept secret; the public key is included in the assembly as part of the strong name and is used by the .
If you know the assemblys file system path, you can call the static (C#) or Shared (Visual Basic) AssemblyName. GetAssemblyName method to get the fully qualified assembly name.
