How to Activate Microsoft Editor Open your Word document. Make sure you are on the Home tab. On the right-hand side of the ribbon, under the Comments and Share buttons, you will see an Editor tab. Simply click on this, and it will appear. As you write, it will auto-populate based on your language settings.
In Word 365 for Windows, Editor button is visible in Home tab, note that the Editor button is also available in the Review tab. If you see a Spelling Grammar button instead of an Editor button, you may need to update or repair Microsoft 365 apps.
This is in File Options Proofing. Uncheck the options for spelling and grammar checking as you type.
