Open the file in Preview by default, or control-click the file and choose Preview. Click Show Markup Toolbar. Click the Draw icon.
In the Preview app on your Mac, open the PDF you want to change. Do any of the following: Add a note: If the Markup toolbar isnt showing, click the Show Markup Toolbar button . Click the Note button , then type text.
Although you cant edit the text of a PDF in Preview, you can use the markup tools to provide feedback or write down something you want to remember. The editing tools in the Markup toolbar are ideal for collaboratinguse them to suggest changes to a PDF and to respond to suggestions.
Annotating on a Mac View the annotation options by navigating to Tools Annotate and select the option you would like to use. You can also show the markup toolbar at the top by selecting View Show Markup Toolbar. Highlight, underline, draw and add notes to the document. Once you are done, make sure to save.
Add or edit text: In a word-processing document, just begin typing. The blinking insertion point indicates where your text starts. In a page layout document, add a text box (see below), then type. To edit text, select the text, then type.
Mark up files on Mac When using Quick Look on your Mac, click the Markup tool . Or when using Quick Actions, choose Markup. Use the tools listed below to mark up an image or a PDF document on your Mac. The tools that are available vary depending on the type of file. When youre finished, click Done.
How to annotate a PDF on Mac Open the PDF document you want to annotate. Click the Show Markup Toolbar button in the top-right corner. Use markup tools for annotation (note that Highlights is a separate button to the left from Show Markup Toolbar in the top menu) Save your document.
