welcome to the advice column and this week were going to talk about annotations ive been getting lots of emails about i want my students to annotate the text but i kind of want to do it digitally and you can so here are four different ideas of how to do this digitally and of course these are not limited so we can add more um if you want to customize this maybe for your classroom or mix a couple of these ideas so idea number one is right here this is called the annotation scramble theres a video that goes over this in more detail but basically the students have 15 minutes and you start a timer and during that 15 minutes theyre making connections theyre making text to text connections text to self or whatever bullet points you want to add heres the new zela article and you can see my connections over on the side using the google comment feature so again students are able to highlight words that they dont know they can go in and add those text to text connections or whatever they
