Right-click the file and select Properties. Uncheck the box for Read-only and click OK. Use online or offline PDF converters to change PDF to editable file formats. Then you can edit the PDF as you like.
Go to the Protect PDF tool. Drag and drop your PDF into the toolbox. Type the password youd like to set. Click Encrypt PDF to add the password to the PDF.
View PDFs in Read mode To open Read mode, choose View Read Mode, or click the Read Mode button in the floating toolbar. To restore the work area to its previous view, choose View Read Mode again.
Open the PDF and choose Tools Protect Encrypt Encrypt with Password. If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security. Select Require a Password to Open the Document, then type the password in the corresponding field.
Open the PDF in Acrobat. Select Tools Protect Encrypt Remove Security. Your options vary depending on the type of password security attached to the document: If the document has a Document Open password, click OK to remove it from the document.
On Windows, just right-click your PDF and select Properties Read-only OK. On a Mac computer, the process is a little more complex. Select the PDF and click File Get Info. You can then set access rights under the Sharing Permissions tab.
You can check the file properties by right-clicking on the file and choosing Properties. If the Read-only attribute is checked, you can uncheck it and click OK.
How to Turn On Editing Restrictions Select the File tab. Select Properties in the drop-down menu. Select the Security tab in the Document Properties dialog box. Select Password Security in the Security Method drop-down menu. Check Restrict editing and printing of the document in the Password Security dialog box.
How Can I Make a PDF Not Allow Editing? Open the document in Power PDF. Navigate to the Security tab and click Manage Security. Check the box that says, Set a password to restrict editing of security settings. Enter a password. Set restrictions, including whether to allow printing and which changes you wish to allow.
It is not possible to protect just a part of a PDF document, you can only protect the whole document. A workaround would be to attach the fully protected PDF to a PDF that has the cover and is not protected.
