Change the column width to automatically fit the contents (AutoFit) Select the column or columns that you want to change. On the Home tab, in the Cells group, click Format. Under Cell Size, click AutoFit Column Width.
AutoFit Rows and Columns Using Excel Ribbon Select the column you need to autofit. Click the Home tab. In the Cells group, click on the Format option. This will show additional options in the drop-down. Click on the Autofit Column Width option.
On your computer, open a spreadsheet in Google Sheets. Select a row or column to resize. To highlight multiple rows or columns: Mac: ⌘ + click the rows or columns. Right-click the row number or column letter. Click Resize row or Resize column. Then, choose an option: Enter a custom height or width. Click OK.
To AutoFit column width, select one, several or all columns on the sheet, go to the Home tab Cells group, and click Format AutoFit Column Width. To AutoFit row height, select the row(s) of interest, go to the Home tab Cells group, and click Format AutoFit Row Height.
Format one or more cells Open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app. Tap a cell, then drag the blue markers across nearby cells you want to select. Tap Format . In the Text tab, choose an option to format your text. Bold. In the Cell tab, choose an option to format your cell. Tap the sheet to save your changes.
To use the autofit shortcut, simply select the column or row that you want to adjust, then press the autofit shortcut keys. For columns, the shortcut keys are Alt + H + O + I. For rows, the shortcut keys are Alt + H + O + R.
To make the columns in a table automatically fit the contents, click on your table. On the Layout tab, in the Cell Size group, click AutoFit, and then click AutoFit Contents. To use the ruler, select a cell in the table, and then drag the markers on the ruler.
