Create a separate account in your chart of accounts to track your adjustments. Select Company and then Chart of Accounts. Select the Account ▼ dropdown, then New. From the Other Account Types ▼ dropdown, select Cost of Goods Sold. Name this account Inventory Adjustments, and then Save and Close.
Its normal to adjust a products quantity from time to time. This is how you track any kind of decrease or increase in product quantity thats not because of a sale or purchase. For example, when an item breaks, or if you find you have fewer or more of it after doing an inventory count.
Here are some common reasons for inventory adjustments: Material is missing from inventory. More of a product is in inventory (or in a bin location) than is recorded in the computer system. Some of the product in inventory is damaged and cannot be sold.
There are three possible reasons to create inventory adjustments. The value of the item is wrong, the quantity of the item is wrong, or both the value and the quantity of the item are wrong.
After a bid has been made, the seller cannot change the original listing title, description, photos, or other details such as the shipping information.
Qualifications to Revise an Item The item listing must still be active. It is not possible to revise an ended item listing. (But it might be eligible to be relisted, with property changes. See Relisting Items.)
