[Music] so welcome back to another episode of haydens how tos in this episode im going to show you how to adjust your stuffing box once your boat goes back in the water the first thing you want to do is purge it of any air that got trapped when your boat was lowered into the water to do that you want to separate these two nuts and back this one up until water starts dripping once its dripped for a couple seconds you can tighten it back up till it stops and then you can tighten these two back up again and then thats it now i know some people like to have it to where it drips a little bit i dont like mine dripping so what i do is i tighten it all the way until its just until it stops dripping and thats after i purge it of air if you dont feel safe doing that you can always just back it off a hair just so it drips a little bit you only want to see about a drip or two a second any more than that and it needs to be tightened up more thats it for this video i hope it helps you guys
