Crop to fit or fill a shape In your file, select the picture that you want within the shape. On the Picture Format tab, click the arrow next to Crop. If you dont see the Picture Format tab, make sure that youve selected a picture (and not a shape). Click Fill or Fit, and then click outside the picture.
Second, remember that the closer you crop, the smaller the actual image becomes. If the original image is 12801024 pixels and you crop it down to 640512, you have reduced the size by half. So, always make sure any cropping you do will leave an image large enough to fill the space you need to fill.
Open your image in Photoshop. Convert your background image into an editable layer by double-clicking your Background in the Layers panel or choose Layer New Layer from Background. Select the Elliptical Marquee tool and draw a perfect circle by holding the shift key and dragging your shape into place.
Select the crop frames in your left toolbar. There are various shapes for you to choose from. Cut out the shape from the image. Drag and drop to adjust the shape size and position.
To circle crop a photo on Canva, upload the image to our editor. Go to Elements on the left sidebar and then key in Frames on the search bar and click on a circle frame. Drag your photo to the frame to instantly crop the photo.
Resizing changes the dimensions of the image, which usually affects the file size (and, thereby, image quality). Cropping always involves cutting away part of the original image and results in some of the pixels being discarded.
If you want to change the outline of a picture and make it a shape (like a circle or a star), use the cropping tools on the PICTURE TOOLS FORMAT tab. Select the picture (or pictures) that you want to crop. On the PICTURE TOOLS FORMAT tab, click Crop Crop to Shape, and then pick the shape you want.
