If youre unable to click on hyperlinks in a PDF, it could be because youre using Preview, the default PDF reader on macOS. The problem there is that Preview doesnt have the auto-link detection feature that Reader has. Its really one of those I wouldnt start from here problems.
Select the text to change to a link, choose Edit Add Link or Format Add Link, then type or paste the URL.
