Open the document, sign or fill it out yourself if needed, then send it off for signing. Note: You can also allow people to sign the document and add text themselves.

How to add fields to a document Start a new envelope and add documents and recipients as usual, and then click Next. In the recipients list at the top of the page, select a person to add fields for. Use the page guide to scroll through the pages and add more fields for your recipient.

Click and drag a Textbox from the left sidebar to your document. Click the dropdown menu below Assigned to in the right sidebar. Click Sender. Give the field a name in the box below Merge field.
Click the action menu and select Save as Template. A new template appears, open for further editing. The template includes all the fields placed on the original documents and any data you entered, plus all field properties as they were set. Make any other edits as desired and click SAVE AND CLOSE.
