if youve been using salesforce for any number of years you probably noticed most recently that really since 2017 the the notes and attachments has changed and it just says upload files you cant actually add a note to this object you know in this particular layout in this case were looking at the juno orders uh purchase order but this is the same for you know any standard object in salesforce or even applications such as juno orders so of course its important to us to have notes on you know these various object layouts and so how do you go about doing that well the first thing you have to do is you have to hit setup and you have to go in enable the note feature so you just come in here and you type in notes you go to note settings ive already done it here because uh i figured it out but you have to enable notes okay once you do that you hit save and then you know back on the object you can come and edit the object youll find the page layout if theres a whole bunch of page layouts

A content note is a verbal or written notice that precedes potentially sensitive content.
In Salesforce, navigate to Setup Notes Settings Enable Notes. Select the Enable Notes check box. Add the Notes related list to the appropriate page layouts. Ensure the Notes Attachments related list is on the appropriate page layouts.
A ContentNote is a ContentDocument with a FileType of SNOTE. If you create a ContentVersion record with PathOnClient set to . snote , youll see that you can query this note through ContentNote as well.
Since the Note is stored in Content, we need to insert a record to the Content Document Link table in order to do this. Create a new CSV file with the following columns: ContentDocumentId, LinkedEntityId, ShareType, and Visibility.
ContentNote object works slightly different than Notes. Instead of having a Parent ID field, it is linked to other objects (e.g. an Account) through a 3rd object called ContentDocumentLink (Check ContentDocumentLink object reference for details).
