How To Excel for Mac Step 1 Open Finder and Select Files. Open Finder and select the files, like this: What is this? Step 2 Copy. Now, do one of these two Copy commands. Command+C if you want to copy the file name only (not the file path) Step 3 Paste. Toggle over to Excel and select a cell.
In the Finder on your Mac, choose Finder Settings, then click Advanced. Select or deselect Show all filename extensions.
Using COMPUTER or WINDOWS EXPLORER navigate to the folder containing the files you want to make a list of. o Do not open the folder you should be one level up so you see the folder itself and not the contents. Press and hold the SHIFT key and then right-click the folder that contains the files you need listed.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then click About on the right. (You may need to scroll down.) Type a new name in the Name field.
First in Finder multiple-select all the files you want to use as the new names. Press ⌘C to copy all the names at once to a list in the System Clipboard.
Create a basic word-processing document To open Pages, click the Pages icon in the Dock, Launchpad, or Application folder. Double-click one of the blank templates in the Basic category. Start typing. Choose File Save (from the File menu at the top of your screen), enter a name, choose a location, then click Save.
Rename files, folders, and disks on Mac On your Mac, select the item, then press Return. Or force click the items name. Enter a new name. You can use numbers and most symbols. You cant include a colon (:) or start the name with a period (.). Some apps may not allow you to use a slash (/) in a filename. Press Return.
