You can highlight text in your document by clicking on the Highlight tool, located in the Font group on the Home tab of the ribbon. (In some versions of Word this tool is called the Text Highlight Color tool.) When you click the tool, the mouse pointer changes to show a highlighter pen symbol.

Select the text that you want to highlight. To apply highlighting to a single word, double-click the word. To turn off highlighting, press Esc.
Select some text then press Ctrl + Alt + H to highlight the selection with the current color. Or, if the text is already highlighted, the highlight will be removed. When there's no selection, pressing Ctrl + Alt + H starts the highlight painter (the mouse pointer changes) then select the text.
Android: Tap and hold the text you're entering in the text field, then choose Bold, Italic, or More . Tap More to choose Strikethrough or Monospace. iPhone: Tap the text you're entering in the text field > Select or Select All > B_I_U. Then, choose Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, or Monospace.
