Add headers footers On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. In the top left, click Insert. Header page number. Choose Header or Footer. Enter text for the header or footer.
, tap Document Options, then tap Document Setup. Turn on Headers or Footers (or both). In a word-processing document, you may need to tap the Document tab at the top of the screen to see these controls. Tap More Options at the bottom of the controls.

The header is a section of the document that appears in the top margin, while the footer is a section of the document that appears in the bottom margin. Text entered in the header or footer will appear on each page of the document.
To use and see headers and footers, make sure your document is in pages format. Open a document in the Google Docs app. Tap Edit . In the top right, tap More . Turn on Print Layout. Tap the header or footer. Type the text you want in your header or footer.
Important: This feature isnt available in documents that are in pageless format. If your document already includes headers or footers and you switch it to pageless format, you wont see the headers and footers in your document anymore.
Add headers and footers, with an open document Open the PDF file to which you want to add the header and footer. Select the Edit mega verb from the global bar and select Header and footer Add. As needed, specify the Font and Margin values. Type the text in any of the header and footer text boxes.
