Yes, you can have animations and transitions within PDFs, and also these PDFs can contain audio and video files.
From the left sidebar, select the View more option and navigate to the Add rich media option. Then choose either the 3D Media , Video , or Sound tool, depending on the type of multimedia file you want to add. To add a video or sound to a specific area on a page, you can either drag or double-click the desired location.

The added GIF becomes a still image in PDF. Thats because PDF is a fixed-layout flat document so it cant play animated GIF directly. If you want to play an animated GIF in PDF, youll need to embed the GIF in PDF as an external file.
Click Embed located on the right hand side of the GIF. From there, you be presented with two embed options via the GIPHY Embed Player: Select the Responsive Off switch for the iFrame embed version. Select the Responsive On switch for the HTML5 embed version.
So, follow the below steps to add GIF to PDF online: Pick the online PDF editor of your choice, such as PDFescape, Seja, etc. Upload your PDF file and open it. Click the Add Image button from the top menu bar and select the GIF you want to add. Once the GIF is added to the PDF, adjust its size and position.
