Both PNG and TIFF files benefit from lossless compression, meaning that no matter how often you save, open, or resize them, theyll maintain their quality. However, TIFF files offer users a choice between lossy and lossless compression, which can help reduce the file size if this is a priority.
Like JPEGs, TIFFs are a raster graphic file, but this format uses lossless compression to retain image data. This means that TIFF files are generally large. They tend to take up a lot of drive space and can be impossible to send via email.
Open the message and click Print. Select Universal Document Converter from the list of printers and click Properties. Go to Watermark and select Text label or Picture depending on your preferences. Click OK to convert your Outlook message to TIFF.
Disadvantages of TIFF files. They can take up valuable space on your drive. Their size makes them difficult to share or send to contacts or clients. Their high quality makes them a poor choice for website design, since detailed images can slow a websites loading speed.
You can use a zip program to shrink a large TIFF file. Your recipient will need a program that can open a zip file. Depending on the final use, you can convert to a PSD or PNG if you have Photoshop.
Select E-mail As Attachment and the E-Mail dialog box displays: In the Attachment Name text box, enter the file name for the attachment. In the Save as type: drop-down list, the option to save as TIFF Image (*. tif) is displayed as the default. In the Page range group box, select which pages you want to e-mail:
Make your TIFF images into JPGs. Choose File and select Save As. Or, choose File, then Export, and Save for Web (Legacy). Either process can be used to save CMYK, RGB, or grayscale images. Note: JPGs support only 8-bit images, so the bit depth will automatically be lowered on anything with a 16-bit image quality.
How to Copy TIF Files Into a Word Document Click inside the Word document to select where you want to embed the TIF image. Click the Insert tab on the Word Ribbon. Click the Picture icon in the Illustrations group. Navigate to and select the TIF file you want to embed, then click the Insert button.
