elcome to Excel campus, I'm John. In this video, I'll show you how to create dynamic data validation lists that automatically update when new items are added to the source range. We'll use Excel tables and named ranges. Start by inserting a table in the source range, make sure "My table has headers" is checked. This will allow new items to be included in the data validation list. Watch my other video on getting started with Excel tables for more information.

Choose the cell where you want your drop-down list to appear. Navigate to the Data tab, click Data Validation, and select the Setting tab. Here, choose List in the Allow box. If Data Validation is unavailable, ensure the worksheet isnt protected or shared.
On the worksheet where you applied the drop-down list, select a cell that has the drop-down list. Go to Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, click in the Source box, and then change your list items as needed. Each item should be separated by a comma, with no spaces in between like this: Yes,No,Maybe.

You cant create drop down list in Excel for ipad. This is a feature which is still not supported. But if you have already created a drop down list on PC/Mac and open in iPad, that would work.
All you need to do is follow these steps: Select the cells you want to contain the drop-down lists. Click on Data Validation. Insert Yes, No in the Source field on the pop-up, only separated by a comma. Click OK to save your yes/no drop-down list.
Create a drop-down list On your Android phone or tablet, open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app. Tap the cell or cells where you want to create a drop-down list. In the top right, tap More . Tap Data Validation. Under Criteria, choose an option: The cells will have a Down arrow .
On the Data tab, select Data Validation Data Validation. Note: If the validation command is unavailable, the sheet might be protected or the workbook might be shared. You cannot change data validation settings if your workbook is shared or your sheet is protected.
Create a drop-down list In a new worksheet, type the entries you want to appear in your drop-down list. Select the cell in the worksheet where you want the drop-down list. Go to the Data tab on the Ribbon, and then Data Validation. On the Settings tab, in the Allow box, select List.
