Click the cell where you want the formula result to appear, then enter the equal sign (=). The formula editor opens. Enter a left parenthesis ( to begin your formula. Select a cell to use as the first argument in your formula, or enter a value (for example, a number such as 0 or 5.20).
Type the equation you want to calculate, using values and arithmetic operators (for example, + ,- , * and /). For example, if you type the equal sign (=), then type 1+1 in the Formula Editor, the cell returns the result of 2. You can also use brackets; if you type 4+6*(3-1), the cell returns the result of 16.
at the bottom of the screen, tap Autofill Cells, then drag the yellow border to encompass the cells where you want to add the content. Any data, cell format, formula, cell border, or fill associated with the selected cells is added, but comments arent.
In the Calculator app on your Mac, choose an option from the View menu: Basic: Perform simple arithmetic operations. Scientific: Use memory functions and perform advanced calculations involving fractions, powers, roots, exponents, logarithms, trigonometry, and more.
Open the Calculator App on a Mac Click on the Finder icon. Click Applications. ( It will be depicted with an A, similar to these images) Once the Applications folder is open, click Calculator. To change the style of the calculator, click View and choose the calculator you wish to use, Basic, Scientific, or Programmer.
Copy the first cell with the formula. Type shift+command+downarrow to select the column. Paste.
Insert a formula Drag the left side of the formula editor to move it. You can resize it by dragging from any of its outer edges. in the toolbar, then choose a formula. Numbers automatically inserts the formula and chooses a result cell based on your selection.
Hold on the Command button, then tap the number 2 on your keyboard. This will reveal the scientific calculator and its dedicated buttons and options. Theres also a programmer calculator that you can access by holding on the Command button, then tapping the number 3.
