Adding Custom Fields to WordPress Posts and Pages First, click the three dots in the upper right corner of the post editor, and then click Preferences from the menu that appears. Next, click Panels, and then toggle on the Custom fields selector. Finally, click Show Reload Page to proceed.
Custom fields are a somewhat more advanced WordPress feature that lets you add extra information to specific posts. That information is called metadata. Custom fields and metadata are of particular use to developers, who can use them to extend posts with all sorts of additional coding.
If you have not created a field group, then you have to create it first. A field group is a collection of all the custom fields. Therefore, all custom fields that we make together are called Field Group. To create a field group, go to your WordPress admin Dashboard. Then, click on ACF - Field Groups - Add Field.
A field group combines related fields together into a meaningful unit. It provides you with a pre-selection, so that you do not have to search through all fields of a data source just to produce a simple list. This means that the user only has access to precisely those fields assigned to a field group.
Go to the Toolset Custom Fields page and click on Add New custom fields group. Select to create a post field group. Name your main field group and save it. To be able to insert a repeatable group of fields, your main group needs to be assigned to a single post type.

How to insert a Word field using the interface Position the cursor where you want to insert the field, which can be in the document body, or the header or footer. Click the Insert tab and then click the Quick Parts dropdown in the Text group. From the dropdown, choose Fields (Figure A).
