On the Page Layout tab, select Watermark Custom Watermark. Choose Picture Watermark and select a picture, or choose Text watermark and type your watermark text in the Text box. Click OK.
Adjust the placement of a watermark on the page Double-click near the top of the page to open the header. Click the watermark to select it. (Try moving the cursor over the watermark until the cursor displays a four-headed arrow.) Drag the watermark where you want it on the page.
If its a text watermark, youll have the WordArt Tools tab available, and if its a picture, youll see the Picture Tools tab when the watermark is selected. If its a text watermark, you can drag it to change its position on the page, but no other editing. If its a picture, right-click and choose Format Picture.
Remove a watermark by clicking the header area Put your cursor over the watermark until you see a 4-way arrow. Select the watermark. Press the Delete key on your keyboard. Repeat as necessary to remove all watermarks.
Select the Advanced Tab and scroll down in the settings to the option: Printing Print Background Colors and Images, and then press OK. The watermark will now show when printed using the Print All and Print Selected buttons.
However, sometimes a watermark may not be displayed. The most common reason for this is that by default watermarks are displayed in the background, behind the documents content. In most cases this is not a problem as the content of most documents is largely transparent.

Adjust the washout effect of a watermark Double-click near the top of the page to open the header. Move the cursor over the watermark until you see the four-headed arrow, and then click the watermark to select it. Under Picture Tools, select Format. Try selecting Recolor, Brightness, or Contrast.
Resizing and Repositioning Select, hold, and drag the adjustment handles to change the size of your watermark.
To change the look of a watermark, replace it with a new one. Select Design Watermark. Select Text, and enter your text watermark. Try selecting Font Color or Transparency. Select OK.
