Because theres one thing that only a very few people know in PowerPoint, and this is that, PowerPoint, by default, messes up your text boxes. If you insert a new text box in PowerPoint, it will be messed up and not be created in a way that you actually wanted to be and thats actually helpful for you to work with it. If your text is changing size as you type or when you resize a text box, you have AutoFit Text turned on.Heres how to turn it off so that the text stays the same size. Click in the text box. Click the Text Box Tools Format tab, and then click Text Fit. Click Do Not AutoFit.
If you have too much text on a slide, the PowerPoint AutoFit Smart Tag pops up in the bottom-left corner of the text placeholder. The AutoFit Options include choices to stop fitting the text, split the text between two slides, continue on a new slide, or change to two columns.
The most likely answer is that someone placed the items on the slide master or one of the layouts. Only placeholders on a master or layout are editable on the slides. Select the problem slide, then choose ViewSlide Master. The layout for the slide will appear.
Click anywhere in the text. On the Format menu, point to AutoFit Text, and do one of the following: To reduce the point size of text until there is no text in overflow, click Shrink Text On Overflow. To shrink or expand text to fit in the text box when you resize the box, click Best Fit.
Click in the text box. Click the Text Box Tools Format tab, and then click Text Fit. Click Do Not AutoFit.
Customize how text fits in placeholders and text boxes Select the placeholder or text box. Next to the box, click the icon and choose an option: To allow text to exceed the placeholder or box, select Do not autofit. To resize text based on the size of the placeholder or box, select Shrink text on overflow.
