Fit text in a shape Right-click the shape that contains the text that does not fit. On the shortcut menu, click Format AutoShape. In the Format AutoShape dialog, click the Text Box tab. Under Text autofitting, select the option you want.
On the Layout tab, in the Cell Size group, click AutoFit. Do one of the following. To adjust column width automatically, click AutoFit Contents. To adjust table width automatically, click AutoFit Window.
To turn off PowerPoint AutoFit: First, pick File Options and then Proofing. From here, move to the AutoFormat As You Type tab. Finally, turn off or uncheck AutoFit title text to the placeholder and AutoFit body text to the placeholder.
If you click into the text box, youll notice a small icon appear in the bottom left corner of the box. Hover over the icon and youll see its the Autofit Options Click on the drop down arrow to list the options There are 3 options available for you to autofit the content, all of which are pretty self-explanatory

On the Format menu, point to AutoFit Text, and do one of the following: To reduce the point size of text until there is no text in overflow, click Shrink Text On Overflow. To shrink or expand text to fit in the text box when you resize the box, click Best Fit.
But heres how to change the defaults so text boxes dont resize and automatically change your font size to fit the text box. First, right click on the text box and select Format Shape in the pop-up menu. Click on the Text Box tab. Click in the Autofit section Do not Autofit Type a word into that text box.
On the Layout tab, in the Cell Size group, click AutoFit, and then click AutoFit Contents.
Enable or disable text wrapping for a text box, rich text box, or expression box Right-click the control for which you want to enable or disable text wrapping, and then click Control Properties on the shortcut menu. Click the Display tab. Select or clear the Wrap text check box.
Press Ctrl+A to select all the text in your document. Click Home Shrink Font one or more times. As you click Shrink Font, Word decreases the size of every font in your document. Click View Reading View to see if you shrank the text enough.
You can change autofit settings in: Slides preferences. The Format options sidebar.Select a new setting for text in the box: Do not autofit. Shrink text on overflow. This is the default for theme text placeholders. Resize shape to fit text. This is the default for text boxes.
