Introduction. Rich Text Format (RTF) is a specification used by common word processing applications, such as Microsoft Word. When you save a document, RTF is a file type option that you select. BI Publishers RTF Template Parser converts documents saved as the RTF file type to XSL-FO.
Select a Data Source. Choose Guide Me or Use Report Editor. Select the Report Layout. Choose Columns for Report Layouts. Table Layout. Chart Layout. Chart and Table Layout. Pivot Table Layout. Chart and Pivot Table Layout. Two Charts and Table Layout. Save the Report.

Working with the RTF Layout Open the RTF layout in Word, and on the BI toolbar click Sample XML in the Load Data, browse to the XML you saved and click ok. Make changes to your layout and Save. NOTE: be sure to keep the layout as RTFdo NOT save as DOC or DOCX.
An image is inserted but is not displayed in the report when it is generated. The problem is only in the footers.jpg follow the below steps: Copy and paste the image in the header and/or footer into image editor. Save the file as *. jpg. RTF does not support VBA macros. However, templates that contain macros can be actively associated with an RTF file. RTF does not support toolbars, because document-specific toolbars employ VBA. In the same way, RTF does not support autotext lists since these also employ VBA.
