subscribe and click the bell icon to turn on notifications sometimes when you import data you might find that excel stores some of the numbers as text and how do we know the difference between cells that contain text and cells that contain values well not only is it fairly obvious by the fact that we have numbers or text but also we can tell based on the alignment in the cell so as a general rule when you have text in a cell so say for example in column b text is always aligned to the left hand side of the cell whereas if you look at some of these other cells that contain numbers so for example the gross sales numbers in general are aligned to the right hand side of the cell so if you come across a situation like we have in column f and if you take a look at this im going to zoom in a little bit you can see here we have a little bit of an issue now most of the numbers in this particular column are aligned to the right hand side of the cell which is correct but some of them are aligne
