PDFs contain metadata for file identification, modification history, and more. While DocHub Pro allows easy metadata modification, there's a free method using Sedja for a single task. Upload your PDF on Sedja, where editable fields such as creation date are filled in. Add new fields by typing label and content, like artist name.

But sometimes, you might want to remove some of the metadata from a PDF for privacy or confidential reasons. Otherwise, the recipient can tell a lot of onfirmation about you or the document. Such as the date of creation, author, title, and other information that was used to create the file.
PDF files retain some basic file description metadata, such as author, file name, and date, which can be minimized if the proper conversion settings are used (see page 31).
The standard PDF metadata includes the following fields: Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Application, PDF Producer, Created, Modified and etc. The metadata can be viewed and edited via File Properties menu in docHub Acrobat (Desription tab).
Adding metadata to your document increases the searchability of your document. It also allows software applications to display information about the document to give the user enough information to determine if this is the document contains the information they are looking for.
The first place to look for metadata in a PDF file is the Document Properties section. This section contains basic information such as the author of the document, its title, and when it was created or last modified. The Document Properties section is easily accessible from most popular PDF readers.
In the Preview app on your Mac, open a PDF or image. Click the Info button in the toolbar. Use the tools in the Inspector window to view more information about the PDF or image. View general information about a PDF or image.
Choose File Properties, and click the Additional Metadata button in the Description tab. Click Advanced to display all the metadata embedded in the document. (Metadata is displayed by schemathat is, in predefined groups of related information.)
If you go to the document properties of a PDF file (control or command d), if the proper metadata is available, it will list the creation date and time and modified date and time. This can help you determine if a pdf file has been modified since creation. However, it is not foolproof.
