XP Premium, XP Photo series If paper does not feed correctly, remove and reload it in the cassette and adjust the edge guides. Make sure the paper stack is not above the tab on the edge guides inside the cassette. If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper, fan the edges to separate the sheets, and reload it.
If paper has print side (front or back), such as photo paper, load it with the whiter side (or glossy side) facing down.
Loading Paper in the Photo Tray Close the output tray, if necessary. Open the front cover. Pull out the paper cassette. Pinch the tabs on the photo tray edge guides and slide them outward. Load photo paper, printable side down, in the photo tray as shown. Slide the left edge guide to the edge of the paper.
Browse to and click the photo you want to print. In the Preview window, change any print job settings, and then click More settings, if the button displays. Select the paper size, type, and tray where you loaded photo paper. Click OK, if necessary, and then click Print to print the photo.
Open the rear paper feed slot and extend the paper support. Slide the edge guide left. Insert paper, glossy or printable side up and short edge first, against the right side and behind the tab. If you are inserting a stack of paper, fan the sheets first and tap the stack on a flat surface to even the edges.
No set standard makes a printer-specific to photos. You can, in theory, use almost any home printer to create black-and-white or color prints. Most printer software products include custom settings that will change the resolution of your print job to make them near perfect for photos.
The printer prints on the side of the paper that is facing up. Load photo paper with the glossy side up.
