If you are in good academic standing, you may register for up to 18 credit hours per semester or 9 credits per term. With advisement center approval, you can register for up to 21 credit hours per semester or 11 credits per term. You cannot register for these additional hours until the first day of the semester.

Continuing Student Academic Criteria Former Students are considered Continuing Students as long as they have completed at least 12 credits of regular BYU coursework.
Before the start of each semester, you must register for your classes, and it is recommended to do so by the priority deadline. For full-time enrollment, students are required to take between 12 and 18 credits per semester with an average of most students taking 12-15 credits.
You can save up to 30 hours in your cart. However, you will not be registered for more than your max credit hour limit (undergraduate 18 per semester/9 per term; graduate 22 per semester/11 per term). You cannot save more than one section of a class to your cart.
