Form TSP-17 is also known as the Information Relating the Deceased Participant Form. It must be submitted by the administrators or executors of the deceased participants. Potential beneficiaries do not complete this form. The information is collected for the identification of the account of the deceased participant.
With traditional TSP, your contributions go into the TSP before tax withholding, which can potentially lower your current income tax rate. But when you take money from your traditional TSP, youll pay taxes on both your contributions and earnings at the income tax rate of the year you make the withdrawal.
NOTIFICATION TO TSP OF NONPAY STATUS (AGENCY USE)
The money being inherited must either be distributed to the nonspouse beneficiary or rolled over to an inherited IRA. Rolling money to an inherited IRA is a nontaxable event, while any distributions would be taxable if the inherited TSP contains pretax money.
If you want to make a financial hardship with- drawal, complete Form TSP-76 or TSP-U-76, Financial Hardship In-Service Withdrawal Request. 6 The forms are available from the TSP Web site, your agency personnel office, your service TSP repre- sentative, or the TSP Service Office.
