Data entered into the portal is sent immediately to SEVIS to update the students record. However, information comes from SEVIS to the Portal once a day. Any updates to a students record in SEVIS will appear in the SEVP Portal the next day.

How long does it take to process I-983?

Processing time of 8-10 business days begins once ISS receives a complete and accurate I-983. Once processed, ISS will send an electronic STEM OPT Extension I-20 to the email address associated with your SEVP Portal.
